Habs Looking for Big Deal |

Here's an e1 that is good for speculation and entertainment purposes only....The Canadiens are looking around for scoring and one potential UFA is on their radar according to a source at this hour...That name is Pavel Datsyuk.
A source told me that there is "some serious exploration going on..." and noted that the Wings obviously want to keep Pavel, and likely will. However it is obvious that at this point the Habs are getting very serious.
Forsberg News: According to a source the Flyers continue to try to get assurances for next year from Foppa. I just don't see it happening. A source also told me that it is now looking like a cool down has set in. Trade discussions were "off the charts" last Friday and Saturday, and nothing has cooled down. His guess is the same as mine: That the Flyers didn't get enough in their minds yet and pulled back to allow other teams to re-think this. Injuries, either to Forsberg or some key player on another team could dictate this one way or the other...It is a risky game all around. I can't help but go back to what I heard following the meeting with Snider and Forsberg last Sunday. It was rumored that Ed was giving Peter a week to figure it all out with his foot. If that is the case, we should be getting close to some sort of key moment in this Foppa Saga.
Also the Blues are scouting the Sens heavily according to several sources. Brewer and Guerin are on the radar in the Capital City.

I am in the middle of shooting an interview with Sportsnet's Greg Ross. He's a nice guy, and surprisingly seven feet tall! Bet you didn't see that coming....
I will be updating again in a few hours here from the Wachovia Center.
