Quick update and then more this evening after Sabres and Flyers game.

Talking to sources regarding the Flyers and Leafs rumor that surfaced this week that the Leafs had interest in Brayden Schenn for Jake Gardiner. While I would never say it is impossible, sources tell me that the Flyers aren't any real hurry to make another trade with Toronto where they send one of their young forwards to the Leafs for a defenseman.

Brayden Schenn is highly regarded by the Flyers and has been for the last few years. The team sees Brayden as a clutch goal scorer with great upside. Jake Gardiner, not too much unlike Michael Del Zotto, are defensemen who are viewed as one-dimensional throughout the NHL when you talk to those involved.

The Calgary Flames on the other hand do have interest in Gardiner and I was told to be alert as to a possible deal between the two squads happening before American Thanksgiving.

On the Oilers....

Panthers are in town tonight to face Edmonton and with their arrival comes along the arrival plenty of rumors between two teams that have been no stranger to the rumor mill this season.

The most intriguing play here would be for the Oilers to take a shot at Brian Campbell, a defenseman who has experience and could perhaps help solidify and more importantly help teach the Oilers young defense.

We all know the contract is very prohibitive, but how much would Florida have to take back to make this happen?

Keep your eye on this situation closely...
