Former Leafs Assistant GM Claude Loiselle reportedly will not land on his feet at the NHL Offices as the head of the league’s Department of Player Safety, according to TSN’s Darren Dreger.
The 51-year-old Loiselle was dismissed along with Dave Poulin by new team president Brendan Shanahan in late July, but immediately was considered the leading candidate to be the permanent replacement for Shanahan because of his previous stint working in the league’s Hockey Operations Department, but is now apparently out of the mix.
Interim sheriff Stephane Quintal is a candidate for the job, as well as former Washington Capitals GM George McPhee.

The recent announcement of the Leafs broadcasting lineup and restructuring may be disconcerting to some fans who don’t like change, but their games are guaranteed high TV ratings, so the constant shifting of games between various Sportsnet channels, TSN(for 26 regional games) and Hockey Night In Canada is reality that will not change in the foreseeable future.
Where there is a bit more continuity is the broadcast crews. Veteran play-by-play man Joe Bowen will be handling radio duties for all 82 regular season games along with longtime analyst Jim Ralph, instead of shifting between TV and radio depending on which network was covering the game.
Paul Romanuk will replace Bowen on Sportsnet’s mid-week coverage, along with color man Greg Millen, TSN’s regional coverage will be handled by either Gord Miller or Chris Cuthbert and Ray Ferraro and more than likely the top crew of Jim Hughson, Craig Simpson and Glenn Healy will handle Toronto games on Hockey Night In Canada(although if you ask Leafs fans, many would like hear Bob Cole doing their games).

Two names potentially in the mix to replace Tim Leiweke as MLSE Chairman and CEO are his two predecessors, Richard Peddie and Tom Anselmi.
Peddie served in that capacity for fourteen years until his retirement in December 2011. Anselmi was the Chief Operating Officer under Peddie and moved up to the top spot, but was replaced by Leiweke and moved back to being COO after 18 months.
It is thought that if either Peddie or Anselmi were brought back, they would be a temporary fix and would allow Leiweke to move on to his next venture instead of staying until June 2015.
