The Devils have announced another two cuts as they continue to trim their roster in effort to get down to 23 players.
The two latest roster casualties are defenseman Tomas Kaberle and winger Ruslan Fedotenko, both of whom were in camp on tryouts.
New Jersey has an abundance of forwards so Fedotenko was a long shot to begin with. His play didn't really force the team to make room for him, so it's not surprising he's been released.
The Kaberle release was a little more surprising. New Jersey had a lot of good defenseman in camp, but Kaberle had a pretty good preseason and looked comfortable playing with Damon Severson, so I figured he'd make it to the final cutdown. I wouldn't be surprised if Kaberle lands on his feet elsewhere.
With Fedotenko, Kaberle and Komisarek out of the picture, Jordin Tootoo, Scott Gomez and Ryan Carter are the only three players remaining in camp without contracts.
The final two preseason games will be very important for them.
