This game was there for the taking and the Sabres could not close the deal. Period. End of subject.
6 of 8 points is a nice acccomplishment.
I would have rather seen the Buffalo Sabres stick a dagger in the Thrashers hearts in OT. Buffalo had a 4 on 3 gif wrapped present, with Tkachuk in the hole, to win the game. Weak effort on the PP by the Sabres.
The Thrashers skated into this game one of the worst PP units in the NHL. They walk out 3 for 4 on the PP. The Buffalo penalty kill was litless and lazt today. Witness Tkachuk's game winner, all alone in the slot. There wasn't a Buffalo Dman with five feet of Tkachuk as he took the centering pass from teh corner, turned, and ripped the winner past Miller.
The Sabres PP and PK units better get it together in a hurry.
