Jackman Sets Record In Loss To Stars

The Dallas stars owned this game from the time the first puck dropped, walking all over the Blues, by a score of 4-1. The Stars were lead by Jamie Benn's first career hat-trick, while Patrik Berglund was the only one to find the back of the net for the Blues.

This was a poor performance by the Blues, on the night that Barret Jackman moved into second all time in game played by a member of the St. Louis Blues. Jackman played his 780th career game, all with the St. Louis Blues. He is behind only Bernie Federko, who sits at 927 games played.

Barret Jackman is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season, and despite the fans wanting the Blues to move one from the veteran defensemen, I would be utterly shocked to see to see him dress for another team in his career. He'll be resigned to a retirement contract, likely for less than fair market value, and he'll retire as the all time leader in games played for the St. Louis Blues.

Fact is, Jackman less than two full season's away from surpassing Federko for first all time. It's very possible that Jackman becomes the first member of the St. Louis Blues, to play 1,000 games, all in a Blues jersey.

There are many fans, who do not like Barret Jackman, but this man has bled Blue for a very long time, sacrificing his body in the process. He'll play injured, all because he wants to give it all for this team. I don't think there is a single player for the Blues, who wants a Stanley Cup more than Barret Jackman.

Jackman has also been rather clutch for the Blues in the playoffs. Remember these beauties?

The Blues had a horrid game tonight, no question about it. Losses will happen, blowouts will happen. Shake it off, you're still second in the central division. Move on, and get ready for a very important weekend. The Blues are set to take on some of the top teams in the eastern conference. They face the Boston Bruins on Friday, the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday, and then the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday.
