In this edition we share our predictions for the Atlantic Division standings.
Todd Cordell: Tampa Bay Lightning
I don't think any team in this division can keep up with the Lightning offensively and with Victor Hedman and Anton Stralman on the backend they're no slouch defensively.
If Ben Bishop and Andrei Vasilevskiy (when healthy again) give them good goaltending - and there's no reason to believe they won't - then the Bolts will run away with this division.
1. Tampa Bay
2. Detroit - I think Tatar, Nyquist, Sheahan and co. will improve and I like the Mike Green signing
3. Montreal - Basically a playoff lock if Max Pacioretty, P.K. Subban and Carey Price are healthy
4. Ottawa - Tough to bet against Erik Karlsson
5. Florida - Young guys will take step forward and keep them competitive
6. Buffalo - Making progress but I'm not sold on their defense just yet
7. Boston - Lost a lot of talent this summer
8. Toronto - I think they'll make games interesting but not enough scoring punch
Tim Chiasson: Tampa Bay Lightning
There's no way Carey Price can play as out if this world as he did last year. Tampa should win the Atlantic division with ease this year with the team they have and how they play the game. Should be another great year for Bolts fans.
1. Tampa Bay
2. Montreal
3. Florida
4. Detroit
5. Buffalo
6. Ottawa
7. Boston
8. Toronto
James Tanner: Tampa Bay Lightning
I hate to make my return to the hotstove so lame and pick the same team as I assume everyone else will pick, but the Lightning didn't really lose anyone and they will add the potentially elite Drouin to their lineup.
Like L.A, having two of the best D in hockey goes a long way to making Tampa's team amazing.
Also, people who think Tyler Johnson is better than Stamkos are the worst.
But, while Tampa should win the title, it's still a pretty interesting division. The Sens will show their late run to the Playoffs wasn't a fluke and the Panthers and Sabres will also be good.
Sam Reinhart and Eichel will make them fun to watch ever single game. I see no reason why they can't be the league's surprise team this year.
1. Tampa
2. Buffalo
3. Ottawa
4. Florida
5. Montreal
6. Detroit
7. Boston
8. Toronto
