For several years now I have put forward a Wacky Prediction Blog to start the season (accept no substitutes!)...Here is this season's...This year I also included some from Mike and Kevin from the HockeyBuzzcast Below... So here we go!
1. Over the next three years, Eichel will have a bigger impact for his team than Connor McDavid.
2. The Detroit Red Wings will win the Atlantic Division.
3. The Washington Capitals will win the President’s trophy and make it to the Stanley Cup Finals led a first time All-Star Russia.
4. The Blackhawks will struggle out of the gate not be in the playoffs at American Thanksgiving.
5. James van Riemsdyk will lead the Leafs in scoring, but fall short of 50 points.
6. Five players released from PTOs will be signed to NHL deals at some point during the season.
7. Steve Mason will earn the backup goalie job for Team Canada at the World Cup of Hockey.
8. There will be no coaches fired during the 2015-16 season.
9. The Toronto Maple Leafs will NOT finish in the bottom ten of the NHL.
10. The NY Islanders will have the best start in the NHL.
11. The Edmonton Oilers will move a major forward out for a major Dman during the season..one of RNH, Eberle, Yakupov, or Draisaitl will be the cost. Possibly even Taylor Hall.
12. The Predators will struggle out of the gate, and make the playoffs as a 7th seed…but make it to the Conference Finals.
13. One of Stamkos, Kopitar or Eric Staal will become UFA’s on July 1.
14. Kreider will score more goals than Rick Nash for the NY Ranger.
15. Sergei Plotnikov will have a bigger impact on the Penguins than Phil Kessel.
