Carlson Could Return Tonight Against Flyers |

It's been a while since we've seen the Capitals hit the ice due to the postponements of their last two games this past weekend in DC. 'Jonas', the blizzard has affectionately been named, slammed the east coast and put a stop on just about everything here - we got 3-4 feet in our neighborhood, we're just seeing the first plows now, and my body hurts ( a lot) from the great dig out of 2016.
Anyway...
John Carlson could return tonight against the Flyers. While it hasn't been made official yet, Carlson has been skating with the team regularly, but he will not return unless he's 100%.
"Obviously he's feeling better," Trotz said yesterday. "He's practicing with us so we'll just see where he is tomorrow and make a decision. He's gone from doubtful to possible."
It's still not known that Carlson's mystery injury is/was, but it seems the ailment has healed and he's ready to return to action.
However, with the All-Star break upon us, the Caps could sit him one more game to rest him until their first game after the weekend on Feb. 2nd.
The Caps are 3 points ahead of the Blackhawks for the league lead with 73 points despite playing 7 less games than Chicago.
Hope everyone on the east coast had a good, and safe, weekend.
More to come...
