Buffalo Sabres power forward Hudson Fasching (Apple Valley, Minn.) has been added to the 2016 U.S. Men's National Team that will compete at the International Ice Hockey Federation Men's World Championship May 6-22 in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia.

Fasching was raised in the USA Hockey culture. He is a long time participant in the USNDP.

This is the fourth time Fasching will be representing the United States in IIHF competition.

A two-time U.S. National Junior Team member (2015, 2014), he earned a silver medal with the U.S. Men's National Under-18 Team at the 2013 IIHF Under-18 Men's World Championship in Sochi, Russia. A member of USA Hockey's National Team Development Program for two seasons (2011-13), Fasching has tallied 13 points (3-10) in 17 IIHF games for the United States.

Fasching made his NHL debut with the Buffalo Sabres on March 26, 2016, after spending three seasons playing at the University of Minnesota. He scored his first NHL goal on his first NHL shot on goal.

Fasching tallied a goal and an assist and 4 PIMs in his 7 games played when he signed his entry level deal then played with the Sabres in April. He averaged 11:31 TOI. He adds size, speed and rugged play on the right wing boards. Sabres GM Tim Murray acquired the former 4th rounder (118th overall, 2013) from the Los Angeles Kings along with feisty winger Nic Deslauriers in exchange for D-man Brayden McNabb and two, second round draft choices.

In 115 games with the Gophers, he tallied 94 points on 46 goals and 48 assists.

Fasching helped Minnesota reach the NCAA national championship game in 2013-14 and also earn the Big Ten regular-season championship that year. He helped guide Minnesota to their winning the Big Ten tournament title in 2014-15.

The U.S. Men's National Team now includes nine forwards, five defensemen and three goaltenders.

Sabres D-man Jake McCabe will also represent Team USA.

Ryan O'Reilly and Samson Reinhart will represent Team Canada, while Rasmus Ristolainen will represent Finland at The Worlds.
