Habs step up center search, Duchene on radar; Doan?

With the injury news coming down last night that Galchenyuk would be out for 6-8 weeks (at least) word today is the Canadiens are intensifying their hunt for a center. The Habs were already looking at Arizona's Shane Doan...

The most interesting name to come up is that of Matt Duchene. Many times over the past couple of years Duchene's name has surfaced and Colorado has been quick to shoot the rumors down. They are most definitely not, and have in fact never been, shopping the speedy center...But rather teams have shown interest in Matt. I am told teams stopped calling after the draft in Buffalo after Sakic made it clear that he wasn't moving Duchene at that time.

Just a few minutes ago I got the following text...from a source in Denver..."The Canadiens are calling about Duchene again, and again Joe is looking for more of a "blow me away" type of offer. Montreal is taking time to consider options..."
