The Avalanche on Thursday they’ve signed defenseman Mark Alt to a two-year contract through the 2019-20 season.

The 6-feet-4, 201-pound Alt, 26, was claimed on waivers from Philadelphia on Feb. 26. He played in seven eight regular-season games with the Avalanche averaged 12:26 in ice time.

Before joining the Avalanche, Alt split the 2017-18 campaign with the Flyers and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL. He played eight games with the Flyers, and had 10 points (five goals, five assists) in 23 games with the Phantoms.

A Kansas City, Mo., native, Alt was drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the second round (No. 53) of the 2010 NHL draft.

Alt had 78 points (17 goals, 61 assists) in 260 career AHL contests with Adirondack and Lehigh Valley.

He played three years at the University of Minnesota from 2010-13 and collected 39 points (seven goals, 32 assists) in 117 games.

Former Avalanche star forward Milan Hejduk has put his 16,700 square-foot mansion in Parker, Colo., on the market for $5.2 million.

The price includes a hockey rink and a Zamboni. The home sits on a 2.25-acre lot in a gated community and features six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, seven fireplaces and three laundry rooms.

Hejduk and his wife Zlatuse, along with their twin sons Marek and David, plan to remain in Colorado.

The 14-year-olds recently finished their 14U season with the AAA Colorado Thunderbirds, coached by Hejduk and former Avalanche defenseman Jan Hejda. The teenagers might begin their junior careers as early as age 16, which would require them to play outside Colorado.

“We’re just trying to take advantage of the market here (and) who knows what’s going to happen with the boys,” Hejduk told the Denver Post. “We would put it on the market, anyway, at some point, and the drive from Parker to old Foothills (Ice Arena) where currently the Thunderbirds are practicing, it’s not really pleasant.

“It’s about an hour drive so, I wouldn’t mind being a little closer.”
