Vet defenseman Dan Hamhuis has spent his entire career in the Western Conference -- because he had his heart set on playing in Vancouver, he once turned down offers from the Flyers and defending Cup champion Penguins after each acquired his rights before he became a UFA -- and apparently still prefers to remain out west. However, what I'm hearing, the better offers he's gotten so far as a UFA this summer have come from a couple East teams.
Unrelated note: If you are in the Philadelphia area tomorrow, I highly recommend checking out the Flyers Charity Classic whether you are a Flyers fan or not. The annual event, featuring a 5k walk/run and bike courses of various distances, raises a lot of money for great causes and /is also a lot of fun for people of all different fitness levels.
