The first coach to be fired this KHL season goes by the name of Vladimir Jurzinov, his now former team Sibir Novosibirsk announced this morning.
Sibir got underway to a horrifying start six straight games lost to begin the season. Four of the dropped games were on the road as well as two more at home - 1:4 against Avtomobilist and 3:4 against Neftehimik Nizhnekamsk.
Jurzinov.Jr took over the team last December and led his team towards a non-playoff performance missing the post-season by only one point.
Jurzinov began his career in Finland and returned home at the beginning of the year 2000 where he has coached many different Russian teams as well as KHL's only Chinese club - Kunlun Red Star.
