Can the Coyotes Score a Goal Tonight?

The Coyotes will play the Ducks tonight.

Or another way to say it: The only team that hasn't yet scored a goal will play the team with arguably the best goalie in the world.

The Ducks and Coyotes have both been suffering from some pretty huge injuries, but tonight's matchup should favor the Coyotes because Gibson eventually has to let some in, and the Coyotes eventually have to score some.

I'm betting on the law of averages to get the Coyotes a victory tonight.

However, there's always that psychological factor that starts to creep up when you haven't scored in a while. Especially when you face the same team and goalie who just stopped 41 consecutive shots against you.

Getzlaf hasn't skated and from what I can tell, isn't expected to play, but also he isn't expected to go on the IR either.

The Coyotes are still without such friends as Galchenyuk, Chychrun, Dvorak and Archibald.

Another problem the Coyotes are facing is that their coach keeps constructing lineups that don't make any sense.

I don't care what Dylan Strome has or hasn't done, there is not even a question that he is, at worst, the second most talented offensive player in this lineup. Therefore, when you're yet to score a goal, it seems absolutely insane to start him on the fourth line with Crouse and Kempe.

The Coyotes are converting a winger, Keller, to the role of centre instead of giving a shot to Strome. There must be a reason for this, but again, the team has not scored a single goal.

Wouldn't it make sense to pair up Keller and Strome?

Or at the very least, put someone who is capable of scoring a goal with Strome? The best way to help a player succeed is to put him in a position to do so.

If a player isn't performing as you wish, it's not going to help him to cut his ice-time and skate him with losers.

There is nothing to lose here. Just play the kid !!
