Sven Andrighetto will make his season debut Thursday when the Avalanche (3-1-2) face New Jersey (4-0-0) at the Prudential Center in Newark.
Andrighetto missed the first six games with a leg injury he sustained Sept. 26 in a preseason game against Dallas. He’ll play left wing on the fourth line – at least at the start – with
Vladislav Kamenev and
Gabriel Bourque.
Philipp Grubauer will start in goal.
The
GAME NOTES.
Matt Calvert, who’s been on the fourth line, will switch places with Bourque and move up to a line with
Matt Nieto and
Carl Soderberg.
"It's been a while for me to suit up," Andrighetto told reporters. "Just watching the games from the stands, it was hurting a little bit. Obviously, I want to be out there with the team and help them win games. Even more excited right now to be able to be a part of it."
Andrighetto had 22 points (eight goals, 14 assists) in 50 games last season. He missed 31 games with leg injuries.
Defenseman
Mark Barberio and forward
Sheldon Dries are the healthy scratches. Center
J.T. Compher will miss his second game because of a head injury.
