The Avalanche left for Calgary after a morning practice Wednesday, but forward Tyson Jost didn’t accompany them.

Jost, who sustained a head injury Saturday against Minnesota, hasn’t received medical clearance and will miss the two-game trip. The Avalanche play the Flames on Thursday and Vancouver on Friday.

Sven Andrighetto (lower-body injury) and J.T. Compher (head injury) also are sidelined.

Still searching for line combinations that can produce some much-needed secondary scoring, coach Jared Bednar will give Vladislav Kamenev a try as the No. 2 center on a unit with Alexander Kerfoot and Colin Wilson.

"Going to try and give Kammy the best chance to produce offensively with Kerf and Wils there, seems like it might be the best fit right now," Bednar told reporters. "We are just going to have to see … we are going to experiment with that."

Forwards Sheldon Dries and A.J. Greer, who were recalled Tuesday from the AHL Eagles, will skate on the fourth line with Gabriel Bourque or Marko Dano.

Dries had a goal and an assist in five games with the Eagles, Greer two goals and six assists in eight games.

Bednar said Dries probably will center the line.

For Greer, a 6-feet-3, 210-pound left wing, it’s yet another chance to show if he can produce at this level. The Avalanche’s second-round pick (No. 39) in 2015, he has four assists in 22 NHL games.

Semyon Varlamov will start in goal in Calgary, Philipp Grubauer in Vancouver.

The lineup:

Gabriel Landeskog -- Nathan MacKinnon -- Mikko Rantanen
Alexander Kerfoot -- Vladislav Kamenev -- Colin Wilson
Matt Nieto -- Carl Soderberg -- Matt Calvert
A.J. Greer -- Sheldon Dries -- Marko Dano/Gabriel Bourque

Samuel Girard -- Erik Johnson
Ian Cole -- Tyson Barrie
Nikita Zadorov -- Mark Barberio/Patrik Nemeth

Semyon Varlamov
Philipp Grubauer
