Game 14 Preview: Flyers @ Sharks

Dave Hakstol's Philadelphia Flyers (6-7-0) are in California on Saturday evening to take on Peter DeBoer's San Jose Sharks (6-4-3). Game time at the SAP Center is 10:30 p.m. EDT.

The game will be televised on NBCSNP. The radio broadcast can be found on 97.5 FM The Fanatic with an online simulcast at FlyersRadio247.com.

This is the second and final meeting of the season between the teams. On Oct. 9, the Flyers suffered an 8-2 humiliation at the Sharks' hands in the home opener at the Wells Fargo Center.

Flyers Outlook

The Flyers are halfway through a four-game road trip through California and Arizona. The trip concludes on Monday with a game against the Arizona Coyotes.

On Tuesday, the Flyers earned a 3-2 win in Anaheim. They followed it up on Thursday with a 5-2 win in Los Angeles. Ivan Provorov has scored goals in back-to-back games, while Sean Couturier (one goal, one assist), Nolan Patrick (one goal, one assist), Oskar Lindblom (one goal, two assists) and Claude Giroux (one goal, two assists) had points in both games. Brian Elliott won both games.

Sharks Outlook

The Sharks are in the third game of a four-game homestand. The club is 0-1-1 so far, settling for one point from a 4-3 shootout loss to the New York Rangers on Tuesday and then a 4-1 setback to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Kevin Labanc opened the scoring midway through the first period against Columbus but the Sharks did not find the net again despite racking up 45 shots on goal. The game went to the first intermission tied at 1-1 before the Blue Jackets pulled away with two goals in the second period and an empty net shorthanded tally late in the third.
