Tyson Jost will be in the lineup Friday when the Avalanche play in Winnipeg to open a two-game road trip.

The GAME NOTES.

Jost, who missed the past four games with a head injury, will be on the fourth line with Marko Dano and Vladislav Kamenev.

Dano, like Jost a former first-round pick, will play his first game against his former Jets teammates since the Avalanche claimed him on waivers Oct. 15. He has no points in six games.

Coach Jared Bednar told the Avalanche web site after the morning skate that Matt Nieto “is banged up a little bit” and won’t play. Gabriel Bourque will take his spot on a line with Carl Soderberg and Matt Calvert.

A.J. Greer, called up from the AHL Colorado Eagles, will be a healthy scratch along with Mark Barberio.

Bednar is switching Samuel Girard and Ian Cole on the top two defense pairings, putting Girard with Erik Johnson and Cole with Tyson Barrie.

Semyon Varlamov will start as the Avalanche (7-5-3) attempt to end a losing streak that has reached four games (0-3-1).

The Jets (8-5-1) will play their first game since losing 4-2 to Florida at the NHL Global Series in Helsinki on Nov. 2.

The Avalanche lineup:

Gabriel Landeskog -- Nathan MacKinnon -- Mikko Rantanen
Sheldon Dries -- Alexander Kerfoot -- Colin Wilson
Gabriel Bourque -- Carl Soderberg -- Matt Calvert
Tyson Jost -- Vladislav Kamenev – Marko Dano

Samuel Girard -- Erik Johnson
Ian Cole -- Tyson Barrie
Nikita Zadorov -- Patrik Nemeth

Semyon Varlamov
