Tyson Jost will be in the lineup Friday when the Avalanche play in Winnipeg to open a two-game road trip.

Jost, who missed the past four games with a head injury, will be on the fourth line with
Marko Dano and
Vladislav Kamenev.
Dano, like Jost a former first-round pick, will play his first game against his former Jets teammates since the Avalanche claimed him on waivers Oct. 15. He has no points in six games.
Coach
Jared Bednar told the Avalanche web site after the morning skate that
Matt Nieto “is banged up a little bit” and won’t play.
Gabriel Bourque will take his spot on a line with
Carl Soderberg and
Matt Calvert.
A.J. Greer, called up from the AHL Colorado Eagles, will be a healthy scratch along with
Mark Barberio.
Bednar is switching
Samuel Girard and
Ian Cole on the top two defense pairings, putting Girard with
Erik Johnson and Cole with
Tyson Barrie.
Semyon Varlamov will start as the Avalanche (7-5-3) attempt to end a losing streak that has reached four games (0-3-1).
The Jets (8-5-1) will play their first game since losing 4-2 to Florida at the NHL Global Series in Helsinki on Nov. 2.
