When the Canucks scored early last night to take a 1-0 lead the Islanders early season was in a very hazy place...Another loss could be dangerous and they needed to stop the bleeding instantly...And they stopped the bleeding and more.

And all the trends I wrote about yesterday...well we know what trends mean now! The Isles didn't score first AND They outshot their opponent and still won...and this Canucks team is nothing to sneeze at.

Really impressive last night was Kuhnhackl, who scored twice despite only slightly more than 13 minutes of total ice time. And its getting contributions from players like Kuhnhackl that really is the difference between a team competing for a playoff spot or not.

With the win the Islanders find themselves tied in second place in the Metro with their Thursday Night opponent the NY Rangers...Who would have thought this mid November game would have so much intrigue?

What did you see last night?
