Has there been a more dominant Leafs combo than John Tavares and Mitch “The Orchard” Marner?

Not in a long, long time that is for certain. This dynamic duo was built to play hockey together. Every shift, every game there is excitement in the stands when JT and Mitch touch the puck; even the road games. The Leafs faithful are far and wide and they are rabid!!

It’s great to see Tavares enjoying his time in Toronto as he’s not only enjoying his stay and looks to fit in well with the team but he’s absolutely shredding it and on pace for his highest goal scoring season to date. That’s what I’m talking about, welcome to Toronto Johnny T!

The Buds have won four in a row and look to make it five tonight against a decent Carolina Hurricanes roster. The Canes are still lacking solid goaltending and depth throughout their lineup. If the Leafs can continue playing as they have, they should have no problem making it five in a row and prepare for their double header Friday/Saturday.

I expect Andersen gets the nod tonight and we see Sparks in one of the back-to-backs. If I had to take a guess I would say Darling gets the nod for Carolina. It’s been pretty shaky between the pipes for Carolina; it may get ugly.

Speaking of ugly…

How ugly is this Nylander situation? I’m done with him. The Leafs trading Nylander will benefit the team more in many ways. We don’t need Nylander chewing up 6+ million on the cap and being a sour puss in the dressing room. Nor do we need someone’s selfish/greedy attitude in the dressing room. It’s all about being a team player and making things work so everyone is happy and you have the best chance at winning the Stanley Cup. That’s what it’s all about isn’t it?

Imagine turning down 48 million dollars on a 6mil x8year contract and watching your team absolutely crush it all season and you are sitting on the sidelines. It’s too bad, Nylander was a good player and seemed like he was going to be a Maple Leafs player for a long time. Time will tell but he’s as good as gone in my books, and I was a big fan of his play.

Leafs are doing it all without Willy and Matthews right now, it’s impressive is what it is. The Leafs have shown resilience and their dedication to playing hard each night is paying off with two beautiful comebacks and some excellent coaching by Mr. Babcock.

Let’s make it five in a row tonight.

Go Leafs Go!

Thanks for reading, enjoy the game.
