The Coyotes beat the Blues on Saturday and won their third in a row since acquiring Nick Schmaltz.
The game was great, but a scary moment occurred when Coyotes forward Michael Grabner took a stick to the eye.
Coyotes forward Michael Grabner just posted this photo on Instagram. It's ugly and it's clearly his left eye that took the brunt of Blues forward Sammy Blais' stick. No official update yet from the Coyotes on his prognosis: pic.twitter.com/zhEdu0XBBv
That is absolutely hideous, and it is a miracle that he still has an eye.
There is no word on the Coyotes on how long Grabner will be out, but Jesus, it looks like it's going to be a while. It's hard to believe everyone doesn't just wear a full mask, as eye injuries are terrifying.
Hopefully Grabner will at least earn the nickname Mad Eye Moody to compensate a bit for this grotesque injury.
To replace Grabner the Coyotes have recalled Conor Garland. The 22 year old former 5th round pick from 2015 is scoring over a point per game in the AHL this year.
Also, Anti Rantta might play tomorrow.
And, the Coyotes are going to the Central Division (yikes!)
