Antti Raanta to I.R + Hinostroza Injured + Game vs Sharks

The Coyotes failed in their bid to win their fifth in a row Thursday against the Capitals, falling 4-2 in the epic goalie matchup everyone was talking about: Phoenix Copley vs Adin Hill.

They will play the San Jose Sharks (and their back-up) tonight in Arizona.

Of course, I've been off for a few days so a ton of news happened.

The main news, of course, is the disastrous injury to Antti Raanta that has seen him move back to the IR for the second time this year.

Rannta has what I think is a groin injury, but I really don't know. Since the team gave some kind of Orwellian chop-suey regarding a lower body injury that wasn't a re-injury but just 'something he's got to get right' I have no choice but to declare this another probable nipple injury.

Now I know what you're thinking: Nipples are not on the lower half of the body. Well, it's 2018 my friend, so allow me to just say that that is your opinion.

Besides Raanta, Vinnie Hinostroza is out 'week to week.'

Yikes!

If the team can't tell it's fans why their players aren't playing, don't expect me to do it. I will guess it's probably one of those diseases we wiped out but which are coming back because it's cool to make up your own facts these days.

Darcey Kuemper is still injured (and I think I prefer Hill anyways). I heard he went down during a civil war reenactment. Old bayonet injury if I heard correctly.

The Coyotes have been suffering a crazy amount of injuries this entire season. Jason Demers is likely not going to play till next year, and Christian Dvorak hasn't played yet. That means they'll go this entire season without once playing their optimal lineup.

And yet, somehow, they find themselves within striking distance of the playoffs. They've got a couple games in hand, but they are among the best defensive teams in hockey so far.

It's been an interesting season, and a win against the Sharks at home tonight would definitely help.
