The Avalanche continue their four-game homestand Monday, meeting the New York Islanders at the Pepsi Center.

The Avalanche have won their past four home games against the Islanders and are 12-2-3 against them at home since 1995-96.

The GAME NOTES.

Semyon Varlamov is expected to get the start. He had 38 saves Saturday in a 6-4 win against Dallas.

The Avalanche will have a new look on the fourth line with Sheldon Dries in the middle with Gabriel Bourque and Colin Wilson. Dries was recalled from the AHL Eagles, with defenseman Mark Alt and left wing A.J. Greer heading back to Loveland.

Some positive news on the injury front:

Forward Alexander Kerfoot and defense prospect Conor Timmins took part in the full morning skate while wearing non-contact jerseys. The plan is for Kerfoot, who will miss his fourth game with an upper-body injury, to take part in a full practice Tuesday and possibly play Wednesday against Montreal.

Still no timeline for Timmins, who has been dealing with post-concussion symptoms since the spring.

"We'll see where that leads, I don't know exactly," coach Jared Bednar said of Timmins. "He is still dealing with some things. Hopefully that is a step in the right direction for him. Hopefully Kerfoot can join the team in a full practice tomorrow."

Here’s Bednar on the Islanders, who are beginning a four-game trip through the Western Conference:

"They're a good team, a hardworking team. One of the stingiest teams defensively out East. Watching through their last handful of games, they've been real good, working real hard. They are tough to find space on, they skate real well and they have ability to hang onto pucks in the offensive zone from what I've seen.

“It looks like it is going to be a tough matchup, tough game, and we would expect nothing less."

The lineup:

Gabriel Landeskog -- Nathan MacKinnon -- Mikko Rantanen
Tyson Jost – J.T. Compher – Sven Andrighetto
Matt Nieto -- Carl Soderberg -- Matt Calvert
Gabriel Bourque – Sheldon Dries -- Colin Wilson

Samuel Girard -- Erik Johnson
Ian Cole – Tyson Barrie
Nikita Zadorov – Patrik Nemeth
