Next blog I will determine who wins the Mark Stone Sweeps from your offers in the comment threads and on twitter...but we have a breaking situation going on right now....

The Blue Jackets, via their website, announced the following regarding Bobrovsky basically being suspended from the team...

"There are certain expectations and values that we have established for our players that define our culture," said Kekalainen. "An incident occurred in which Sergei failed to meet those expectations and values, so we made the decision that he would not be with the team for tonight's game. This is an internal matter and we will have no further comment at this time."

The Blue Jackets are a very tight-lipped organization and they always prefer to keep stuff like this internal. Releasing it on their website means this situation was serious enough that he didn't just privately ask to be traded...as some are speculating...

Of course this will thrust Bob back into the rumor mill and if becomes available at the deadline the possibilities of him as a rental get VERY interesting...This kind of move doesn't sound great in terms of the Jackets re-signing Bob as a UFA this summer...The two-time Vezina winner will command one of the higher salaries out there...but his playoff and clutch performances have hampered that a bit.

Regular season with Columbus Bob has a monster career sv% of .929 with a 2.42 GAA, however in the playoffs those numbers swell to a .898 and 3.37 GAA...That's almost giving up 1 more goal per game in the playoffs...

Who would be interested in Bob as a rental?

I would look to San Jose.. The Sharks are really gearing up and see this year, with Karlsson, as a year they are going for it. On the Rumor Chart, they are my favorite...

The Islanders are getting great goaltending right now, but the way this is playing out Lou may see an opportunity to give himself an edge that can move the Isles into the top three spots and help them avoid a first round matchup with Tampa.

Another possibility would be Edmonton...The Oilers are about ready to try anything to make the playoffs and are fading too fast currently...

Finally the Blues can't be overlooked.. I keep hearing they don't feel they are sellers yet...but a week from now that could change...
