Coyotes win and a new arena is ready (not that one)

The Coyotes won, in a bit of a weird game in which Vancouver didn't get a shot until the first period was almost over, but then went on to pretty much control the rest of the game, only to lose in overtime.

Richard Panik scored the winner and no Coyotes suffered season ending injuries, as far as I know.

Connor Garland scored, which gives him 8 points in 16 games this year, and if I'm not mistaken, all of them are since his last re-call, nine games ago.

Amazing what someone can do if you give them an opportunity, said Dylan Strome.

I don't know how much to read into this Garland explosion since he had eight goals last year in the AHL in 55 games. I'm guessing not too much, but we'll take some good Coyotes news where we can get it.

In other news, who knows what happened with Sergei Bobrovsky, but having heard John Torterella speak before, I'm sure it's Torterella's fault. I can't believe people keep hiring this guy any more than I can believe it when I turn on the TV and see a bunch of guys who wrecked the Leafs for years tell me why Kyle Dubas doesn't know what he's doing.

In even otherer news, my ice rink aka Tanners Glorious Outdoor Arena of Love is finally ready to go for after school today. Last year we were skating by December 20th and this year we haven't gotten consistently cold enough weather to make it work until now.

The Coyotes remain six points out of a playoff spot and only four points out of last place in the NHL. That makes sense, right?

Praise be!
