Wild Look to Turn The Tide On Predators

The Wild get their chance to turn the tables on the Predators after Sunday's 3-2 shootout loss in St. Paul.

If that is going to happen the special teams for the Wild have got to step it up. The penalty kill has been atrocious ever since Mikko Koivu went down and the power play has been abominable.

The powerplay may be a bit easier to explain as they are incorporating several new faces into the roles, but to be honest the scheme seems all wrong with the current personnel.

With a new approach to shooting the puck first approach, one might expect the Wild to be looking to isolate shooters on the man advantage.

We know the Wild have put themselves in a precarious position to make the playoffs in the first place, so this is the worst time of the season to be struggling in the special teams department.

The Wild have upped their compete level most certainly, but if they are indeed going to make it seven straight playoff appearances it may just come down to how well the special teams perform going forward.

It's Always Hockey Day in The State of Hockey!
