Confident Wild

If it wasn't clear before last night that this is a totally different Wild club from every aspect, than the one we have grown to know the past half decade or so, it should be.

An impressive 3-0 shutout of the league leading Lightning in Tampa. Backstopped by Dubnyk and energized by the resurgent Jason Zucker the boys are coming together at the right time.

There is a renewed optimism brewing about this team for sure. There is no guarantee of playoffs for the Wild and that is the very fire they are using to drive the results on the ice.

From owner, Craig Leipold, down through the organization the message is clear. The Wild are aiming to make the playoffs and unlike pat seasons the team is getting hot at just the right time.

Tonight is another huge game in the progression of the Wild, as there is no margin for a letdown in Florida after last night's big win in Tampa.

The powerplay looked a little better last night, but still nowhere near where it needs to be especially on the two main advantage they had in the third period which could have iced it a lot sooner.

Eight games without a regulation loss with many of those against strong opposition has the Wild in position to climb the standings. It is up to the guys on the ice now to deliver.

It's Always Hockey Day in The State of Hockey!
