Sorry. I was wearing my Coyotes nordic themed ear muffs. I've also got on my special OEL branded underwear.
This is the big time.
I've never been here before, and I don't know how to act.
It's March, which usually means that Its been six months since I cared about a Coyotes game (due to their standard elimination game held annually on Halloween).
But the Coyotes, winners of almost every game for the last three weeks, have a real shot at the playoffs for the first time since I've been covering them (2013).
Even crazier is how they got here. I'll save you the massive injury recap because you didn't click on this blog to read a novel, but suffice to say it's really long and includes almost all of their players.
The Coyotes are going for the wild card, but how crazy is this: a Coyotes win tonight coupled with a Vegas loss would put the Coyotes just three wins off the pace for the final division seed, with one game in hand 14 to go.
Or to put it another way, if the Coyotes win and Edmonton and Vegas both lose, the Coyotes will be equidistant from Edmonton and Las Vegas.
The Coyotes currently sit three points back of Minnesota (Victor Rask, you serious?) for the final wild card, with two games in hand.
Oh yeah!
Tonight it's Coyotes vs Kings and it should be awesome! The game is at 8 pm my time, so it leads me to wonder if the Coyotes have gone out of their way to make their schedule senior citizen friendly, or what.
Why a 6 PM start time against another West Coast team?
