Which rules would you like to see changed?

I'd like to get rid of the offside reviews, or perhaps penalize teams for lost reviews so we don't see so many 50/50 goals looked at. I can't remember the last time someone was blatantly offside, a goal was scored, and then review was needed to overturn it. Most obvious offsides are called at the time, and almost every goal wiped away is the result of someone being an inch ahead of the play 20 seconds prior. Scoring is up now but it has been a problem in the past. Taking away goals due to plays so minor a ref standing at the blueline can't notice live seems counterproductive.

Another change I'd be interested to see: players serving every penalty in full. If Alex Ovechkin blasts one home 30 seconds into the man advantage, you don't get off the hook. You still have to serve the final 1:30. There aren't a lot of penalties called these days so that's one way teams can maximize the opportunities they do get.

This will never happen, but the best playoff format ever would be what they used to do in Sweden by having the top teams pick their opponents. Have the 16 best teams make the playoffs regardless of where they are, and the top 8 teams get to choose who they play. Can you imagine the drama surrounding each selection? It would create rivalries because the best team might not necessarily pick the worst team in the standings. The lower seeds would have a chip on their shoulder, and the decisions made my teams would be fascinating. This would be fairer too by incentivizing finishing as high as possible in the regular season, and we wouldn't have to deal with terrible divisions causing weird matchups.

Fix the offside rule- first. Let's at least figure this one out before anything else. To do so is to take away any issue of the skate on the ice. As long as a leg to foot part of the body is over the blue line either on or off the ice the player is onside.

Now for a new rule- take away the trapezoid. Abolish it and let's get some action from the goalies. You want to release speed and transition in the game then let goalie's play the puck and start that transition. Goalies are basically protected so no one is going to run them either and if someone does, then that's kinda fun too.
