It's no secret that Russians love to follow their NHL stars, it's also no secret that KHL executives follow their NHL stars.

Vice President of KHL's ''Metallurg'' Magnitogorsk team has once again stated that he would love to see Malkin suiting up for his hometown team once he is done with playing in overseas.

''We're very happy and proud that we were able to raise such a great hockey player as Evgeni is. We can't wait when he'll return to play for us towards the end of his career'' Gennadiy Velichkin stated. Also noting that NHL is still a priority for many. ''I think he made the right decision to go and play in the US. That's how life develops and it turned out to be great for him.''

Meanwhile, former head coach of Team Russia Vyacheslav Bykov had his own opinion to share on Malkin's success. ''He's an incredible playmaker. I think that he would've been a leader of USSR hockey team. Malkin is the kind of person that always wants to be the best, he's reaching for his goals and he works hard. We have to be proud that we Russians have a player like him''

''He has never said no to Team Russia, he is always willing to help when an opportunity presents. He is ready to do anything for his team.'' Bykov added.

Malkin deserved much praise from people involved with hockey from all across Russia following his 1000 point milestone becoming only fifth Russian to do so.
