Now to repeat the trend the Wild started after their last win over the Rangers. The big difference of course is the quality of the opposition is much different beginning tonight as the Islanders are in town.

The last time the Wild and Islanders met it was a thorough domination by the Isles in Brooklyn that was not indicative of their 2-1 victory.

Both teams played yesterday so no media excuses about back to back games as the Islanders lost in Detroit by a 2-1 count and of course the afirementioned Wild victory over the Rangers.

Ten games to play for the Wild as they sit two points out of the final Western Conference playoff position picking up a point on Arizona who lost in overtime last night at home to Edmonton.

Every game is huge for the standings of course, however it really comes down to the players and what their compete level will be.

72 games into the season and we are still talking about the players on the ice and what they are doing to be ready to play on a nightly basis. That is an issue that needs to be addressed by Paul Fenton in the offseason.

Let's see what Bruce Boudreau's boys have in store for the home faithful this evening.

It's always Hockey Day in The State of Hockey!
