Homestand Wraps Up With Avs

Five game homestand wraps up tonight for the Wild as they look to even the record after going 1-2-1 in the first four games.

Sitting just one point out of the final playoff position with 9 games to play tonight like all the rest, is enormous.

The powerplay has come to life, as they have connected on 4 of 10 man advantage opportunities over the last three games after not scoring on the PP since seemingly somewhere in late December.

In all reality it is funny how the power play has performed better after they went to work on it in practice. That is an odd concept that could have possibly been worth a few extra points in the standings if they had worked on it instead of electing to take days off.

That may be the difference in the race for the final spot, yet it was not valued by the brass making the decisions.

The positive is that they did address it and the results are showing up on the scoreboard.

Tonight it will be a factor, so let's keep that going Wild.

In other Wild news Paul Fenton announced the signing of Alexander Khavanov their 2018 3rd round pick, to an entry level contract. Khavanov scored 25 goals, 49 assists, and added 94 PIMs for Moncton of the QMJH this season.

It's always Hockey Day in The State of Hockey!
