Morrow in, Beaulieu out vs Ducks

It should come as no surprise that Nathan Beaulieu is sitting tonight. He took a heck of a shot to the head during his fight against Kyle Clifford. In comes Joe Morrow and the lines and pairs look like this according to Jamie Thomas of Jets TV

Let's get the criticisms out of the way first.

I'm not sure what prevents Paul Maurice from putting Copp back with Tanev and Lowry and letting Perreault, Little and Rosloivc take some pressure off the top two lines in certain situations. Sure Copp has a bit more grit with his game than my proposed pairings but when has Bryan Little been a liability with his play in that regard let alone Perreault?

Now the question that was asked when Morrow was seen skating is 'where has he been hiding?' followed up with 'where is Bogdan?' The newly acquired LD has not suited up for the Jets yet and against a team like Anaheim, one that tries to play the 'heavy game' against Winnipeg he seems like a decent option.

The Ducks are 6-4 in their last 10 games and sit just above the Kings whom the Jets seemed to make a far more difficult adversary than they needed on Monday night. In that streak the Ducks managed to do the Jets a favour by beating the Preds not too long ago.

In terms of analysis there's not much to do hear. This is a game the Jets should win but expect them to have trouble s that's how this goes right? The Jets should be able to shoot more, they should be able to beat them with expected goals too one would think as well

If you look at that chart it appears the Jets are heading in the right direction, finally. There's work to be done but at leas the recent trend is in the right direction. The Jets still rely on some favorable luck too as seen below.

There's more evidence to support the luck factor but what the team needs now is for the trend of playing better to continue and that when luck does change the tactics and fundamentals have improved enough to compensate.
