The Wild travel to DC to face the defending Cup Champion Capitals. The Wild have not beaten the Capitals the last eight times the teams have met and are in the midst of a 1-4-1 stretch but somehow find themselves just 1 point out of the final playoff position in the Western Conference.
The road has been a much better place for the Wild in the second half of the season, combine that with the fact that they play much better against the league's best, expect a competitive game tonight.
The longer the Wild hang around the playoff race the more likely they are to sneak in. They have a solid defense and goaltender, Devan Dubnyk, has the ability to get hot and carry the boys for extended periods.
