Congratulations to Minnesota Duluth for winning their second straight NCAA championship and third this decade under Scott Sandelin. I have been hearing for the last year that Sandelin is VERY much in demand as an NHL head coaching candidate.

He has previously been approached by at least one NHL team about becoming an assistant coach and was understandably not interested because of his great situation at Minnesota Duluth.

However, with several clubs having hired head coaches directly out of the collegiate ranks, Sandelin has become a hot name and in high demand for interviews for HC opportunities.

Russ Cohen already reported that Philadelphia has interest and I am hearing at least one other team (which does not currently have an "official" vacacny) may contact Sandelin if they opt to go in a different direction.

More to come....
