On April 19th, Chicago Wolves winger Daniel Carr was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the American Hockey League (AHL). Carr's award was announced the same day the Wolves will started their playoff series against the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Carr came to the Golden Knights via Free Agency, this past offseason, signing a one-year, $750,000 deal with the club. Prior to this season, Carr was a member of the Montreal Canadiens organization, compiling 34 points in 94 games played at the NHL level, over the past three seasons.

His MVP campaign with the Wolves saw him rack up 30 goals and 41 assists in just 52 games. He scored one goal in six games during his brief stint with the Golden Knights in late November. He, Tomas Hyka, and Brandon Pirri were all recalled during the season, with Pirri eventually securing a perminant spot with the NHL club.

His 71 points places him third overall in the AHL, despite missing the final 18 games of the season nursing an injury. His points-per-game pace was enough to lock up the Les Cunningham MVP honors. Unfortunately, Carr doesn't seem to have much of a shot to make the big club next season which means the pending Unrestricted Free Agent will likely be playing elsewhere in 2019.
