Update: Roslovic's former agent has responded to Portzline's tweet that Rosloic never asked to be moved, only moved from the 4th line. He followed that tweet with another explaining his respect for Roslovic and more.

It's a classy move but it doesn't answer all the questions. The leak of a trade was never attributed to him why does he need to step in after he had been fired? It could be to manage his reputation as there may be some information circling as to why Roslovic fired him. Why say anything and why not let the new representation speak for Roslovic?

No reason to think he's lying but it's also self serving in some fashion too.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

It may not have been the way that Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff wanted to address an issue with one of his better young players still on their entry level deal but life comes at you fast. Today, in fact about 30 minutes ago, Aaron Portzline of the Athletic just reported that Jack Roslovic has fired his agent of six years, Ken Robinson.

Part of Portzline's tweet was even juicer when he had reported that Roslovic had asked for a trade this season. This is the part that probably just stung the Jets. This fact did not need to be public, not this way and not with all the other moves that need to be made.

Roslovic must have been pissed to go this far. Unhappiness was something many guessed at when they Roslovic's minutes and usage and cleary that was the case. He moved to have the same representation as former team mate Brendan Lemieux- his father's group.

Averaging 9 minutes a night and used sparingly in his role Roslovic need seemed out of place and clearly this bothered him enough. Obviously Chevy knew the player was unhappy and it had been rumored but never confirmed that he had asked to be moved, until now. However, this puts the Jets in a bit of a bind with a cap crunch and three other RFA to manage. Expect all sorts of rumors to come up on how Roslovic is wanted.

Add this to the laundry list of issues for Chevy as he deals with Laine and Connor's contracts along with Trouba's impending deal and trade. With renewed communications between Myers and the Jets things for Chevy are moving without making much progress, even with Chiarot's camp working on a possible deal too.

This news, with the trade request going public, certainly doesn't help Chevy and adds a bit more fuel to the fire that players are unhappy and that the coach may be part of the problem. The offseason is getting fun now and there's so much more to happen.
