Mathew Maione was the voting winner of KHL's fan all-star vote. That might have been the best decision that the fans could've ever made.

First, the 28-year old defensemen who plays for KHL's Dinamo Riga took the ice with a twin for a shootout attempt.

Hockeybuzz reached out to the player and asked how did that come about? Who's idea was it?

Maione responded via text saying - ''Well it was both of our idea. Together we wanted the viewers at home to have a little bit of fun as well as the fans in attendance.''

Little did we know that he wasn't done surprising people across the world. He stepped up on the ice... this time with an actual guitar and microphone stand all of a sudden was at the center ice. That's when we knew - something fun is about to go down.

Clearly the highlight of the whole weekend! And such a great cover of Lumminers - ''Hey Ho''.

''I was pretty nervous. I love music and playing guitar but its this is a new level presenting infront of the best players in the legaue and thosands of fans live.'' he said. Then also explaining that this wasn't his first time doing so - he had performed in front of a large audience before.
''I had performed after we won the championship in Slovakia for Banska Bystricia on stage in the square during our championship ceremony.'' he added.

Maione who's Division lost at the All-Star game final against Bob Hartley's Chernyshev division team really enjoyed the event. ''Very humbled by this experience.'' he noted.
