Good morning and happy free agency day!

It feels a little weird doing this at the end of July, but here we are. I will be updating this as things develop throughout the day.

On Tuesday, the Bruins addressed a need by re-signing left-shot defenseman Mike Reilly to a three-year contract with an annual cap hit of $3 million.

Reilly was acquired by the Bruins at the trade deadline, sending a 2022 third-round pick to Ottawa for his services. His impact was immediately felt, as he became a defenseman who could get pucks to the net, something the Bruins blueliners had much issue with last season.

The veteran played a nice top-four role with the Bruins and should continue to do so in 2021-22.

Now, with Reilly back in the fold, that gives the Bruins about $17 million to re-sign David Krejci, bolster their bottom-six, sign another left-shot defenseman, possibly a right-shot and find a veteran backup goalie.

Nick Foligno to sign?

Foligno would be a very nice addition to the Bruins, but what would it mean for David Krejci?

Bruins sign Erik Haula & Tomas Nosek

In a move to add some stability to their bottom-six the Bruins signed Erik Haula and Tomas Nosek, two immediate upgrades to their bottom-six.

Ryan Getzlaf back to Anahiem

The Bruins were in on Getzlaf and it sounded like if he were to leave Anaheim, it would be for Boston. Would have been a nice bottom-six option.

Bruins sign defenseman Derek Forbort

The Bruins added some much needed size to the left side of their defense, signing Derek Forbort to a three-year contract worth $3 million annually.

Bruins lose out on Blake Coleman

Well, so much for that. Coleman to Calgary on a six-year deal worth $4.9 million annually. A hefty contract for a bottom-six forward.

Sean Kuraly to Columbus

No surprise here, felt his game really dipped last season and the trade for Curtis Lazar made it less likely Kuraly would return.

Blake Coleman to Boston?

More to come throughout the day..
