Los Angeles Kings captain Anze Kopitar reached a huge milestone in the team's 4-2 win over the Arizona Coyotes last night.
Picking up an assist on Sean Walker’s empty net goal with under a minute to go in the third period, Kopitar reached 1,000 career NHL points. The milestone came in his 1124th career game.
Kopitar became only the 91st player in NHL history to reach the 1000-point milestone. He’s spent his entire career with the Kings and was with the team for their Stanley Cup wins in 2012 and 2014.
Given that Kopitar is just 33 years old and is producing at a great rate, we’ll see him continue to climb the all-time points list in the coming years. He has another three years remaining on his contract and doesn’t look to be slowing down yet.
