The Los Angeles Kings will face the Anaheim Ducks tonight, in their first meeting of the season. An addition to the Kings’ lineup could be forward Arthur Kaliyev, who may be making his NHL debut.
Todd McLellan is leaning towards Arthur Kaliyev making his debut tonight for the @LAKings.
Kaliyev was selected by the Kings with the 33rd overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft and spent the beginning of the season with the AHL’s Ontario Reign, where he scored three goals and seven points in five preseason games. Kaliyev has been dominant with the OHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs over the last two seasons and in the 2019-20 season, he scored 44 goals and 98 points in just 57 games.
Up front, Andreas Athanasiou and Blake Lizotte will be out for the Kings, while defensemen Matt Roy and Sean Walker are injured. Neither Martin Frk or Matt Luff are expected to be ready to return tonight either, according to LA Kings Insider’s Zach Dooley.
