The Anaheim Ducks have announced their roster and taxi squad for the start of the season, shown below:
FORWARDS (13): Nicolas Deslauriers, Ryan Getzlaf, Derek Grant, Danton Heinen, Adam Henrique, Max Jones, Isac Lundestrom, Sonny Milano, Rickard Rakell, Carter Rowney, Jakob Silfverberg, Sam Steel and Troy Terry
DEFENSE (7): Cam Fowler, Brendan Guhle, Jani Hakanpaa, Jacob Larsson, Hampus Lindholm, Josh Manson, Kevin Shattenkirk
GOALIES (2): John Gibson and Ryan Miller
TAXI SQUAD (6): David Backes, Max Comtois, Kodie Curran, Vinni Lettieri, Anthony Stolarz and Andy Welinski
As a note, Max Jones has been placed on injured reserve and Brendan Guhle has been placed on long-term injured reserve.
The Ducks also assigned Andrew Agozzino, Sam Carrick and Trevor Zegras to the AHL’s San Diego Gulls.
It’s pretty surprising to see both Comtois and Curran on the taxi squad. Comtois had a good chance at winning a spot in the top-nine and with Brendan Guhle out and Christian Djoos being claimed, it seemed as though there was a high chance Curran would make the roster. In addition, star prospect Trevor Zegras will have to wait a little longer to make his debut.

Here’s today’s poll question (results and discussion will be posted in a future article):
Do you think Trevor Zegras should have started the year in the NHL?
