The Anaheim Ducks announced on Tuesday that they’ve hired Mike Stothers and Geoff Ward as assistant coaches.

Stothers was head coach of the Los Angeles Kings’ AHL team for six seasons, leading the Manchester Monarchs to a Calder Cup in 2015, then coaching the Ontario Reign for five more seasons.

Ward was head coach of the Calgary Flames for parts of the last two seasons. He took over from Bill Peters partway through the 2019-20 season and began this past season as Calgary’s coach, before being fired 24 games into the season.

Stothers and Ward will replace Mark Morrison and Marty Wilford. Morrison had been part of Anaheim's coaching staff for the last four seasons, while Wilford had been an assistant coach with the Ducks since 2018.
