The Anaheim Ducks announced yesterday that they’ve signed 2024 first-round picks Beckett Sennecke and Stian Solberg to three-year, entry-level contracts, each carrying a $975,000 cap hit.

Sennecke was selected third overall by the Ducks last week, and is coming off a year in which he scored 27 goals and 68 points in 63 games with the OHL’s Oshawa Generals. Sennecke won’t be eligible to play in the AHL next season, so unless the 18-year-old earns a role with Anaheim next season, he’s likely to return to junior hockey.

Solberg was selected 23rd overall by the Ducks. The defenseman managed 15 points in 42 games while playing in Norway last season, and like Sennecke, his entry-level contract is eligible to slide, if Solberg doesn’t play at least 10 NHL games next season.

The Ducks also announced a new contract for forward Pavol Regenda. The winger originally signed with the Ducks two years ago, playing 19 NHL games with the team over the past two seasons. This year, while playing primarily in the AHL, Reganeda registered 19 goals and 34 points in 54 games with the San Diego Gulls, and should have a chance to fight for an NHL roster spot. The 24-year-old’s contract is for one year, worth $775,000.
