The Anaheim Ducks lost their fourth game in a row tonight, falling 4-3 to the New York Islanders.

The Ducks went down early, allowing a goal to Zach Parise only two minutes into the game. While Josh Manson did bury a rebound in front to tie it later, two goals from the Islanders in the final 30 seconds of the period put them down 3-1 after the frame.

Anaheim did pull back to within a goal in the second period, with Isac Lundestrom tipping in a point shot, but Kyle Palmieri got the Islanders’ their two-goal lead back a few minutes later, and the Ducks exited the period still down by two, just as they had started it.

The Ducks outshot the Islanders by a huge 16-7 margin in the third period but weren't able to capitalize for most of the frame. Adam Henrique did manage to cut the lead to one with under two minutes to go, but that’s as close as the Ducks would come, falling 4-3.

The loss marks the fourth in a row for the Ducks, with them now having lost every game of their road trip so far. They’ve picked up just one of a possible eight points in the stretch and while they did put 43 shots on goal, the 29 shots they gave up doesn’t tell the full story of how many quality opportunities they surrendered at times.

Even though John Gibson allowed four goals yet again, I think he gets somewhat of a pass based on the chances he faced. He had to make several key stops, as the Ducks continued to allow a lot of great chances.

The Ducks wrap up their road trip on Tuesday against the New York Rangers.
