The Anaheim Ducks will have the third-overall pick in this year’s NHL Draft, as determined by tonight’s draft lottery.

The Ducks finished at the bottom of the West Division and second-last in the league overall this year. Their pick comes three spots higher than last year, when they took Jamie Drysdale with the sixth-overall pick.

Owen Power is the frontrunner to be selected first overall this year and isn’t likely to fall to the Ducks at third overall but other than Power, it’s still very up in the air as to who the Ducks could select. After a strange year of hockey for prospects, there’s certainly a wide range of rankings as to where different players could be selected.

Leading up to the draft, I’ll be releasing articles looking at who the Ducks could select.
