The New York Islanders and Tampa Bay Lightning will be back in action tonight for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Final, with the Lightning leading the series 2-0.

The Islanders are coming off a heartbreaking loss on Wednesday, where they gave up the winning goal with just eight seconds to go, despite outplaying the Lightning through much of the game.

As for who starts for the Islanders tonight, it’s anybody’s guess. It would be easy to assume that Semyon Varlamov would be back in net after a pretty strong Game 2 but I’ve been wrong in predicting a starter so many times now that I’m not going to try.

The same can be said about which winger will draw into the lineup. It could be any one of Derick Brassard, Michael Dal Colle, Ross Johnston or Andrew Ladd. Again, not going to try to make a prediction on this. As for Brock Nelson, he’s expected to be in the lineup, after taking a hit in Game 2.

As for the Lightning, they'll be missing some key players. Alex Killorn was suspended for his hit on Brock Nelson, while Brayden Point is questionable for Game 3.

The Islanders really need to take advantage of the Lightning’s lineup being thinned down and get a win tonight. They were the better team on Wednesday and Game 3 is pretty close to a must-win game.

Puck drop is at 8 p.m. EST.
