The Hurricanes are coming off an important 3-2 win on Thursday, which evened the series at 1-1.
There are still a lot of questions surrounding each team’s lineup ahead of Game 3. For Carolina, we don’t know whether Joel Edmundson will be back, who will be starting in net and who will be scratched, while we also don’t know if David Pastrnak will be back for the Bruins.
I’m hopeful that Edmundson is back for Carolina and can replace Trevor van Riemsdyk in the lineup. I think he and Brady Skjei worked really well together and I’ll like to see them back as a pairing. This would mean Sami Vatanen moving down to the bottom pairing to play with Haydn Fleury.
In net, I’d say the Hurricanes can go with either goalie and feel comfortable right now. Both have played well in their playoff action so far, though I’d personally maybe side with James Reimer.
While the Hurricanes have managed to split the first two games, they need to generate more chances. They were better in Game 2 at not giving up as many quality chances to Boston’s forwards but still need to be able to create more of their own opportunities going forward.
Puck drop is at noon.

Here’s today’s poll question (results and discussion will be posted in a future article):
If Joel Edmundson is in the lineup, should he be playing with Brady Skjei?
