Kochetkov was selected by the Hurricanes with the 36th overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft. He spent the majority of his season in the KHL, playing 10 games between two teams and posting a .924 save percentage. His entry-level contract is two years and carries an AAV of $842,500. Makiniemi was selected by Carolina in the fourth round of the 2017 NHL Draft. He spent his year in the Liiga, Finland’s highest league, posting a .907 save percentage in 34 games. Makiniemi’s deal, which is also two years, carries an AAV of $867,500.
